Bexley Night Shelter

It is that time of year again, when our attention starts to focus on the opening of the Bexley Night Shelter, which will open between January and March 2019, and asking each of us to think how we might be able to help those in need of a shelter during the winter months.

I am delighted to confirm that the Bexley Night Shelter will run again this year, for the third year running, which is testament to all those involved, especially the great team of volunteers that give up their valuable time to serve others. The night shelter is also made possible again through very generous donations from both individuals and local organisations, donations that take the form of money, as well as meeting the practical needs of those in need.

If you feel you might have some time to volunteer between January and March 2019, you will need to attend one of the training and enrolment sessions, which take place on the following dates:

Saturday 3rd November 9.30am, at Welling Baptist Church

Wednesday 14th November at 7.00pm, at Belvedere Baptist Church

Saturday 24th November at 2.00pm, at Welling Baptist Church

Whether you can spare one night a week (or more), or one night every two weeks, or just one or two days during the time of the shelter, any time spent at the night shelter is valued by the organisers, but mostly by the guests, who really value the warm welcome, the hot meal, and the generous hospitality extended by all.

If further information is required, please have a chat with Gary, or contact the night shelter direct, via e-mail.
