The Additional Collect for Trinity 9: Gracious Father, revive your Church in our day, and make her holy, strong and faithful, for your glory’s sake in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Project Bike Rack: Please see details in church on Project Bike Rack, an initiative for young people from across the Team Ministry to come together in September and improve cycling provision at St John’s. We are very grateful to Rustum Bharucha for his support with this project.
Bexley Team Walking Group: Organised group walks begin on the 11th September, to coincide with the annual Ride & Stride. Walks are graded according to level of challenge in the hope that there will be something for everyone. More details of routes, including estimated times for those wishing to join us on the routes will be publicised in the month prior to each walk. Email fr.edwardbarlow@gmail.com for more details. Joydens Wood Community Fayre is at St Barnabas Church on Saturday 7 August 11am-3pm. . The focus is bringing the community together whilst supporting our Building Fund for a new hall to serve our community. Any government Covid restrictions will apply. £1 entry. Do come and support us!
We would also love to have some more helpers. We’re looking for people to help in the kids game zone, the bouncy castle and icing biscuits with the children. It would be great to have people willing to ‘float’ to give people a break and also to help the Clear-up Team to put away tables, bunting etc. (If the bouncy castle helpers have children - they can go on for free!)”
Harvest Fair St Mary’s will be holding ‘Harvest Fair’ in the hall after the 10.00 am Harvest Service on Sunday 3rd October. Post service drinks, food including hot lunches, produce stalls etc. All proceeds to church funds. Please see Chris after the 10.00 am service this Sunday to arrange a planning meeting. St Mary’s Chris Thomas will be taking part in ‘Ride and Stride’ again this year raising funds for Friends of Kent Churches and St Mary’s. Sponsor Chris by signing up in church from 8th August.
There will be a Messy Church planning meeting in church at 11.00 am Thursday 12th August. Please consider if you can help with Messy Church(10 meetings per year at 3.00 pm on 2nd Sunday of the month except August and December) and let Clive know if you would like to come to the planning meeting.
Bexley Food bank support- thank you to those who have contributed to this. The food and other items have now been taken to the Food Bank based at Trinity Church, Bexleyheath. Please keep supporting this as the need is there – see list in church for items needed.
Pilgrimage: Clive will be leading a holiday to Austria and Oberammergau including the Passion Play 22-29 June 2022. If you would like to consider joining the group printed and e-copies of the holiday/pilgrimage brochure are available- please let Clive know.
