Two very different pieces of music this week.
The first is a prayer that our hearts will be changed as we allow God to mold us into His image as a potter molds the clay ( Isaiah 64 v 8 Jeremiah 18 v 1-4 )
The second is a classical piece, Allegri's Miserere Mei which is based on Psalm 51. " Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions." This piece of music was a closely guarded secret for years, sung only in the Sistine Chapel during Holy Week with the sheet music unavailable outside of the Chapel, until a 14 year old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart visited Rome and heard the piece. He went away and transcribed the whole piece from memory returning to the Chapel to make only a few minor corrections. The recording by Kings College, Cambridge in Latin has a purity in the sound which is beautiful due to the choir and the amazing acoustics.
However, if you prefer to have the English words on the screen, the third piece may be more helpful to you .
