The Collect: Let your merciful ears, O Lord, be open to the prayers of your humble servants; and that they may obtain their petitions make them to ask such things as shall please you; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,  who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

The Additional Collect for Trinity 10: Lord of heaven and earth, as Jesus taught his disciples to be persistent in prayer, give us patience and courage never to lose hope, but always to bring our prayers before you; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

 

Joydens Wood Community Fayre is at St Barnabas Church on Saturday 7 August 11am-3pm.  . 

Entry £1. In support of a new hall.

 

Zoom Services in August. Please note there will be no Zoom service on Sunday 22nd August or Saturday 28th August.  

 

Project Bike Rack: Please see details in church on Project Bike Rack, an initiative for young people from across the Team Ministry to come together in September and improve cycling provision at St John’s. We are very grateful to Rustum Bharucha for his support with this project.

 

Bexley Team Walking Group:  Organised group walks begin on the 11th September, to coincide with the annual Ride & Stride. Walks are graded according to level of challenge in the hope that there will be something for everyone. More details of routes, including estimated times for those wishing to join us on the routes will be publicised in the month prior to each walk. Email fr.edwardbarlow@gmail.com for more details. St Mary’s  The church will be open for visitors from 10.00 am to midday on each Saturday in August.  

Chris Thomas will be taking part in ‘Ride and Stride’ again this year raising funds for Friends of Kent Churches and St Mary’s. Sponsor Chris by signing up in church from 8th August.

There will be a Messy Church planning meeting in church at 11.00 am Thursday 12th August. Please consider if you can help with Messy Church(10 meetings per year at 3.00 pm on 2nd Sunday of the month except August and December) and let Clive know if you would like to come to the planning meeting.

St Mary’s will be holding ‘Harvest Fair’ in the hall after the 10.00 am Harvest Service on Sunday 3rd October. Post service drinks, food including hot lunches, produce stalls etc. All proceeds to church funds. 

 

Pilgrimage: Clive will be leading a holiday to Austria and Oberammergau including the Passion Play 22-29 June 2022. If you would like to consider joining the group printed  and e-copies of the holiday/pilgrimage brochure are available-  please let Clive know.
